Engineering is currently working on the following projects:

Summerland Water System Separation Project

Prairie Valley Road and Rosedale Avenue Upgrades

The District of Summerland is excited to have completed the revitalization of our two main entrances into town. This project included upgrades and additions to the sanitary sewer, water, and drainage systems.  Power poles were removed and overhead electrical, Telus and Shaw cable were relocated underground which has vastly improving the look of the two streets. Sidewalks, streetlights, landscaped medians and boulevards were installed on both sides of the road improving pedestrian and vehicle safety while also enhancing aesthetics.

A substantial positive change has taken place with the implementation of two roundabouts, one at the intersection of Rosedale Avenue and Peach Orchard Avenue and another at the intersection of Prairie Valley Road and Rosedale Avenue. Roundabouts are easy to use, and are proven to reduce accident frequency and seriousness, while keeping the flow of traffic steady.

Approximately 3 million dollars in funding through the Canada British Columbia Infrastructure Stimulus Fund was made available to Summerland for this project.
